Hiraeth Pictures Ltd.

Formed in North Wales in 2021 by brothers Alyn and Robert Smith, our name reflects our longing for the timeless themes of the stories we grew up with.

Our short film "The Colonist", directed by Robert, on location in Lanzarote, is featured on the BFI Blu-Ray release of "Radical Dreamer", a documentary about the life of veteran film director Werner Herzog.

We are currently working on a feature length poetic documentary, exploring the legacy and landscapes of the Welsh slate industry.
